Ellerman Enzinna attorneys have handled dozens of appeals, both civil and criminal, authoring briefs and arguing cases in the 2d, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 11th, and DC Circuits, the U.S. Supreme Court, and appellate courts in multiple states. They have authored amicus briefs for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The National Alliance on Mental Illness, The Florida Psychological Association, The Florida Psychiatric Association, and Physicians for Human Rights.

  • Represented businessman in appeal of embezzlement conviction.
  • Represented business owners in appeal of bank fraud convictions.
  • Represented charitable organization in appeal of order denying post-execution DNA testing in death penalty case. 
  • Represented organization in appeal of its designation as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
  • Represented capital defendant opposing government’s appeal of District Court’s grant of habeas corpus relief. 
  • Represented individual convicted of murder on appeal of denial of habeas corpus relief.
  • Represented individual convicted of murder in furtherance of continuing criminal enterprise in appeal resulting in reversal of conviction on grounds of insufficiency of the evidence.
  • Represented individual in appeal of kidnapping conviction.
  • Wrote and submitted amicus curiae briefs on behalf of National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in criminal cases involving firearm enhancements, prosecutorial misconduct, and national security issues.
  • Appointed amicus curiae by DC Circuit to brief and argue on behalf of homeowner in real estate foreclosure action.
